Vietnam Royal Dance

Royal dance appeared in Viet Nam during the Nguyen Dynasty. It originated to serve royalty, and it was performed at different types of ceremonies, such as weddings.


     The Vietnamese royal dance has its own characteristics and national colour. Some typical dances include the royal ritual, royal wedding, and animal ritual.

     The most interesting is the bat dap dance in which there are 64 dancers. Bat dap was the main dance of the royal ritual held every three years and conducted by the king.

     Another interesting royal dance is the Lan dance in which a couple of unicorns play and take care of each other that illustrates love in an incomparable way.
